Against a backdrop of garden-inspired décor reflecting this year’s theme, “Education: Stabilising Roots While Embracing Change,” some of Jamaica’s educators were celebrated for their outstanding contributions at the 2025 Teacher and Principal of the Year Awards hosted by LASCO through the LASCO Chin Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information (MoESYI) and the Jamaica Teaching Council (JTC).

As Jamaica’s education sector rebuilds in the wake of the recent hurricane season, schools continue to recover from closures and resource losses. Amid those challenges, LASCO, in partnership with the Jamaica Teaching Council (JTC) is strengthening the foundations of education and challenging longstanding stigmas surrounding technical and vocational education (TVET) through its Teacher and Principal of the Year Awards.
