LASCO Directors Tour Expanded Manufacturing and Distribution Complex
See First-Hand the Scale Behind Jamaica's Leading Nutrition Brand

LASCO Manufacturing Limited (LML) and LASCO Distributors Limited (LDL) hosted members of their Board of Directors on a tour of the company's consumer division complex in White Marl, St. Catherine, offering an inside look at the operations that keep one of Jamaica's most recognised household brands on shelves across the island and the diaspora.
The tour was led by Executive Chairman James Rawle and brought together Justice Seymour Panton, Noel daCosta, Compton Rodney, Gary Peart and Collin Maxwell, along with Company Secretary Vincent Chen, LML Financial Controller Althea Powell, LML Deputy General Manager, Lisa Watts and LDL Chief Financial Officer Shellyann Jackson. The group moved through the Liquid and Powder Plant of LASCO Manufacturing, and the Distributors’ warehouse facilities before closing out the visit with a presentation and luncheon.

Inside the Manufacturing Liquid Plant, Production Manager Elvis Richardson and Engineering Manager Paulo Williams walked directors through a newly installed bottling line that has meaningfully expanded the facility's production capacity — a direct response, the company says, to sustained demand growth for its liquid product range.
The visit also took directors through the Powder Plant, where LASCO Food Drink, the company's flagship product, is manufactured locally from start to finish, underscoring the brand's continued investment in domestic production capability.

At the Distributors’ side of the complex, the tour of the warehouse facilities was led by LASCO Distributors Limited Consumer Division Warehouse Manager, Rainford Lennon. The recently expanded Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) warehouse now spans more than 30,000 square feet and holds 756 SKUs spanning LASCO's own portfolio alongside products from client partners including Unilever and Salada Foods Jamaica — a combined range covering nutrition, food and beverage, home and personal care, and healthcare categories.
Together, the Liquid and Powder Plant and the Distributors warehouse operations employ 250 people between staff and contractors, reflecting the scale of activity behind LASCO's footprint in the local manufacturing and distribution sector.
Rawle said the visit reinforced the importance of directors maintaining a direct connection with the company's operations.
“One of the most important things a Board can do is get off the page and into the business. Our directors are busy people, but there is no substitute for standing on a production floor, seeing a new bottling line running at capacity, walking a 30,000-square-foot warehouse and speaking directly with the people who make this company work every day,” the Executive Chairman expressed.
Rawle continued, “White Marl is a large and growing operation — we could not cover every inch of it in a single visit — but we covered the heart of it, and I believe every director left with a far richer understanding of what LASCO Manufacturing and LASCO Distributors are building. That is what governance looks like in practice.”

The Board tour forms part of LASCO’s ongoing efforts to keep its directors closely engaged with on-the-ground operations as the company continues to scale capacity across both its manufacturing and distribution arms.
Earlier this month, the company also welcomed finalists from the LASCO Chin Foundation's flagship recognition programmes — including the Nurse of the Year and Nursing Student of the Year, Saluting Our Heroes (Police Officer of the Year), and the Teacher and Principal of the Year Awards — for a similar behind-the-scenes experience. Held annually, the tour gives the programme ambassadors a first-hand understanding of LASCO's manufacturing and distribution operations while providing the company with valuable feedback from professionals who interact daily with Jamaicans in hospitals, schools and communities across the island.
